Invitation to National Rover Camp: roverVOCO

Every few years there is a „Roverbundesunternehmen„, a national camp only for Rovers. A once-in-a-lifetime event for Rovers and their leaders. The next one, roverVOCO, is coming up from april 10th to 18th 2022. And this time, international Rovers are invited too!

What does roverVOCO mean?

„voco“ is Esperanto for „voice“ – roverVOCO, therefore, means „the voice of Rovers“. We want Rovers to take part in exciting projects, venture out, live in other social environments, and experience their role therein so that they can use their voices to support others!

Why you should participate:

– Meet 1500 fellow Rovers from Germany
– Experience Germany together with other scouts
– Kick-off event in cozy atmosphere in one out of four places in Germany
– Two full days of action-packed projects all over Germany
– Five main camp days at an old brick factory packed with program near Berlin

Essential part of roverVOCO are the projects. In small groups, you’ll get thrown into a new social microcosm for two full days. Of what kind? That’s primarily up to you. You have the choice to select between projects regarding society, environment, politics, or experiencing East Germany

(extended registration for international participants)

End of registration. We will start allocating the projects, and you’ll get all details about your trip before the end of the year.

Kick-Off event / Opening 10.04. – 11.04.2021

You and up to 400 scouts meet in one of the four regional opening locations in Germany. We will kick-off the camp together with a great party.

Projects 11.04. – 14.04.2021

It is time to head out. You and a small group of up to 50 people travel to your project, taking trains and busses. After your arrival, it is up to you and your new friends to gather impressions and experiences while participating in the project. Take those memories with you when you head out for the final camp.

Camp 14.04. – 18.04.2021

A bit north of Berlin is the “Mildenburg Brickyard Park”. An old industrial brickyard, now a museum with a big outdoor area, and for five days our campsite.
Every participant is heading there. The closer you get, the more scouts you’ll meet. Everyone with the same destination.
We will spend the time reflecting on our project experiences, celebrating Easter together, and generally just having a blast.

Who organizes roverVOCO

roverVOCO is organized by the Deutsche Pfadfinderschaft Sankt Georg (DPSG), Germany’s largest scouting organization, inviting all Rover scouts to participate.

How much does it cost?

The participation fee will be between 250€ and 190€ per person for the complete Camp. We start at 250€, but the more participants sign up for roverVOCO, the cheaper it gets. Food, program, and travel during roverVOCO are included. Your travel to the kick-off event and your departure from the camp are not included and have to be organized and paid by yourself.
